PE days are Wednesdays and Thursdays.

Please ensure all items of PE kit are clearly labelled and in school. They will remain in school until half term. Please ensure you have removed any earrings on this day as children will not be able to do PE with earrings in. Please note that adults in school are not allowed to remove the earrings and plasters over earrings are not permitted.

Independence

As your child is in now in the juniors, there is an expectation that they take responsibility for their own belongings.  Please ensure that all uniform is clearly labelled. No toys or pencils cases are allowed in school.

We ask for the children to only bring their purple book bags into school and their PE kits in a small pump bag. We cannot accommodate rucksacks and school books can get damaged in these large bags.

Please remind your child to hand any letters that may need to be collected to a member of staff rather than leaving it in their reading bag.  Children also need to take their reading books out of their bags and place in an allocated reading book box every morning to be checked.

Homework

Spelling Bee

Year 3 and 4 are holding a Spelling Bee to encourage the children to learn to spell the 108 words in the Year 3/4 list.

Children will be tested every Tuesday on words they have been given to learn throughout the week. Children need to score at least 9/10 on each test to move onto the next set of words. The children will receive a certificate for each set of words completed correctly. Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum and Diamond certificates. Please try and encourage your children to practice their spellings.

Reading

Reading - Please listen to your child read every night and ask lots of questions to ensure they understand what they have read. This should take approximately 10 minutes. Ensure you record that your child has read in the Reading Diary. Books will be checked daily by an adult to mark off any reading at home, counting towards the reading challenge. Children must put their book in the box daily for the count to take place.  Children who read regularly find writing easier.

My Maths

My Maths homework will be set weekly on a Friday and should be completed by the following Friday.

The children will earn Dojo points for each piece of homework that is handed in. Your child will have been given a copy of the homework challenges or please click this link to access this.
